Job summary

Valley National Bank is seeking an experienced Human Resources leader to advise on policy development, implementation, and interpretation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

You will conduct thorough investigations, partner with senior leaders to design corrective actions, manage ADA accommodations, support workforce reductions, and monitor case data to drive proactive, data‑driven people decisions with discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field with 10+ years progressive employee relations experience.
• Master's degree in HR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise creation, implementation, and interpretation of HR policies to reflect high standards and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct thorough investigations into workplace complaints with fairness and confidentiality.
• Partner with senior leaders to develop corrective action plans ensuring consistency with policies and employment laws.
• Manage ADA accommodations and work with leaders to implement productive, inclusive solutions.
• Support bank through position elimination processes including planning, communication and legal compliance.
• Maintain oversight of the case management tool, monitor accuracy, analyze trends, and suggest proactive strategies.

Job description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Advise the creation, implementation, and interpretation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring Valley's practices reflect the highest standards and comply with all regulatory requirements.
• Conduct thorough investigations into workplace complaints, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and compliance with bank policies and legal standards.
• Partner with strategic partners and people leaders to develop and implement corrective action plans, ensuring consistency, compliance, and alignment with internal policies and employment laws.
• Manage accommodation requests in compliance with ADA and other applicable regulations. Work with people leaders and associates to implement reasonable solutions that support productivity and inclusiveness.
• Support the bank through position elimination processes, including planning, communication, and compliance with legal and company requirements.
• Maintain oversight of our case management tool, monitor entries for accuracy, and analyze trends and recommend proactive strategies.
