Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an Associate/Employee Relations Manager to advise and consult on associate relations strategy for the Toledo market. Responsibilities include investigating open door concerns, cross-functional coordination, policy interpretation, managing performance issues, and supporting compliance with laws and CBAs.

The role will involve labor relations activities, employee investigations, and collaboration with legal counsel to mitigate risk while fostering a positive work

Qualifications

• 4 year/ Bachelors Degree
• Specialty/Major: Human Resources or related field
• Graduate Degree (Masters)
• Specialty/Major: Human Resources or related field
• SPHR
• 5-7 years’ experience in Human Resources (HR), including recent employee relations investigations experience

Responsibilities

• Lead investigative role in complex/high-risk issues
• Investigate by establishing plan, gather facts, interview witnesses
• Handle complex, emotionally charged issues with objectivity
• Participate in grievance responses and labor relations processes
• Advise managers using knowledge of policy, law, and CBAs
• Identify policy improvements based on prior cases
• Prepare responses for EEOC or state equal employment opportunity bodies
• Support labor relations activities and labor management meetings
• Assist managers with risk assessment and HR guidance
• Interpret labor and employment laws with legal counsel
• Identify potential liability and escalate as needed
