EMPLOYEE RELATIONS INVESTIGATOREnsign Services, Inc. (“ESI”) seeks an Employee Relations (“ER”) Partner with at least five years’ experience conducting internal workplace investigations. The ER Partner will be responsible for investigating complex employee issues in order to gather information and make recommendations regarding appropriate actions to resolve issues. This role is imperative to promote consistency and fairness in all practices and demonstrate our values to ensure a positive work environment while mitigating risk for the organization.

About the OpportunityThis position would work at the direction of the Employee Relations Director and legal counsel and report to the Employee Relations Director. This role would be mostly remote and can be conducted from a home office. However, traveling will be required when warranted by the nature of the complaint and for training purposes. It is anticipated that travel would be required up to 30% of the time, but the actual time may vary depending upon the nature and location of the complaints received.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Independently conducts timely, objective, and thorough internal investigations including but not limited to alleged violations of company policy, harassment, discrimination, accommodation, and retaliation and prepares all required documentation.
- Maintain detailed and accurate accounts of investigations with timely memorialization of the notes and supporting documents into the case management system.
- Prepares investigation plans, gathers evidence by interviewing witnesses and reviewing relevant records, analyzes evidence and reaches factual findings, analyzes facts in light of relevant policies and law to determine whether complaint is substantiated and recommends corrective action.
- Exercises judgment and provides analysis involving complex and diverse employee relations problems.
- Partners with HR Resources, Legal Counsel, Compliance partners, and other resources as appropriate on sensitive employee relations issues.
- Professionally and effectively communicates findings with key partners to develop and deliver an integrated plan.
- Prioritizes multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining positive customer and client relations.
- Possesses the ability to be flexible with work hours in order to respond to urgent issues and to the situational needs and requirements of the workload.
- Identifies and reports on trends and recommendations for systemic improvements and preventative measures (e.g., training).
- Strategize and develop a comprehensive plan of action to address identified issues. The Investigator will also be responsible for designing, implementing and designing targeted training programs to promote best practices and prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources or related field. Professional certification in employee investigations preferred.
- Three + years of experience conducting workplace investigations.
- Possesses the ability to identify root cause, analyze, and interpret data.
- Detail-oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, state and federal laws including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Interacts respectfully and professionally with all employees.
- Works independently and without day-to-day oversight of management.
- Able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Other Desired Skills:- Knowledge of Workday helpful, but not mandatory.
Additional InformationWage Rate: 75k - 95k DOE
Position Type: Full-time, exempt employee, remote worker.
