Job summary

ISG is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Des Moines, IA for the Healthcare Business Unit. You will design HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, and building systems for hospital environments, collaborating with architects and engineers to deliver integrated solutions.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, PE license, and 5+ years in healthcare design. Expertise in Revit, BIM, BMS, and PLC/HMI is preferred; we value strong client relationships and leadership potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare mechanical design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee HVAC-R, plumbing, medical gas, vacuum systems, steam generation and fire protection.
• Collaborate with architects, structural and civil engineers for integrated solutions.
• Conduct facility assessments and commissioning/retro-commissioning of healthcare infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare codes and standards.
• Manage building automation systems and sustainability initiatives.
• Plan equipment layouts and collaborate with project managers on scheduling and documentation.
