Job summary

Alliant Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Professional Transportation Engineer to lead the design of major highway projects.

You will design roadway geometry, perform design calculations, and prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates while guiding a team of graduate engineers and technicians. You will resolve design issues with proactive and innovative solutions, review work according to Alliant's Design Quality Management Plan, and engage in professional development to grow your client

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
Licensed Professional Engineer required.
4+ years of highway design experience.
Strong working knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must work well in a team.
Technical expertise using MicroStation and GEOPAK on transportation projects.

Responsibilities

Lead the design of major transportation projects including roadway geometry, design calculations, and plans/specs/cess estimates.
Manage a team of graduate engineers and technicians to deliver projects.
Resolve design issues with proactive, innovative solutions and ensure adherence to the Design Quality Management Plan.
Engage in professional development to grow client networks and business opportunities.
Assist with preparation of work scopes, budgets, and project schedules.
