Lerch Bates, a global technical consulting firm, seeks a Project Accountant to partner with project managers and consultants. The role ensures accurate project financials, timely invoicing, WIP review, and closeout support while fostering cross-functional collaboration and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in project/construction accounting.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software such as Deltek Vantagepoint, Vision, Dynamics, Oracle or SAP.
• Familiarity with project contracts, AIA billing formats, and lien waivers.
• Strong Excel, Word, and Outlook; solid GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain project records in the accounting system (Deltek Vantagepoint).
• Review contracts, proposals, and notices to proceed to ensure proper setup.
• Monitor budgets, WIP, unbilled revenue, and project profitability.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist forecasting.
• Process client invoices, monitor billing terms, and support collections.
• Assist with month-end close and internal controls; support audits.
