Job summary

Coborn's, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Planning & Scheduling Specialist to support our transportation operations and ensure stores receive products to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

You will coordinate daily and weekly routes, driver schedules, and fleet utilization while collaborating with Logistics leadership, Warehouse Operations, and transportation partners. The role emphasizes problem-solving, ownership, and contributing to our employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business, or related field preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in transportation planning, scheduling, dispatch, logistics, distribution, or related operational environment preferred.
• Experience independently managing transportation schedules, staffing coverage, resource allocation, or operational decisions preferred.
• Experience working with third‑party transportation providers, fleet operations, or transportation cost management preferred.
• Strong planning, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
• Knowledge of transportation operations, route planning, fleet utilization, and DOT/hours‑of‑service requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to learn transportation management and scheduling systems.
• Valid driver’s license and current insurance required. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily and weekly delivery routes and driver schedules.
• Adjust schedules and coverage for absences, vacations, training, seasonal demands, and unexpected operational changes.
• Evaluate fleet availability, route efficiency, and transportation capacity to improve utilization and control costs.
• Coordinate transportation partners with third‑party carriers to secure capacity and maintain reliability.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Warehouse Operations, and Fleet Maintenance to coordinate loading schedules, departure times, equipment availability, and delivery priorities.
• Monitor transportation performance, including mileage, drive time, overtime, staffing coverage, and delivery reliability.
• Ensure transportation plans align with DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain transportation records and equipment information.
