Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is seeking an experienced Scarper Operator for construction projects in the region. Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

You will work with crew members and subcontractors to ensure work quality and timely delivery, while maintaining and servicing equipment and mentoring junior operators. A high school diploma or equivalent and construction experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality.
• Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs as needed.
• Communicate regularly with crew members and subcontractors to meet schedules and budgets.
• Develop and maintain relations with crew and subcontractors to keep timelines.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and safety procedures followed at all times.
• Identify and resolve issues that arise during projects.
• Provide on-the-job training to new operators and mentor others.
