You will load and unload cargo from trucks, move pallets, and help maintain a safe dock environment. Ideal candidates are at least 18 years old, with forklift certification or prior experience, and possess good math, record-keeping, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid forklift certification or prior forklift experience required.
• Ability to coordinate and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to accurately record freight information on bills of lading or other documents.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations for operating a forklift and handling cargo.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to load and unload cargo from trucks and other transportation modes.
• Move, stack, and organize pallets or containers in the warehouse or dock area.
• Verify and record the quantity and condition of cargo.
• Attach labels, tags, or marks to cargo as required.
• Inspect and maintain the forklift and report malfunctions or damages to the supervisor.
• Follow safety rules and wear protective equipment as needed.
• Assist other dockworkers with manual labor tasks as needed.
