Job summary

Haley Ward, Inc. in Bangor, ME is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, organize, and manage municipal and site development projects.

You will work within QA/QC constraints, budgets, and schedules, coordinating with the Project Manager and regulatory staff. The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology, has PE licensure (or EIT on track), and demonstrates strong math, communication, and AutoCAD skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license with a minimum of 4 years of related experience OR Engineer in Training (EIT) on track to attain PE license with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Sound mathematical skills are required.
• A working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and control project activities to meet schedules, budgets, and QA/QC policy.
• Prepare professional, economical, and effective sets of plans and specifications for each project.
• Design and compute engineering aspects of municipal water, sewer, roadway, dams, site planning, and stormwater projects.
• Communicate with governmental/regulatory staff and represent clients at hearings or meetings.
• Monitor budget, schedule, plans, and QA/QC, reporting project status to the Project Manager.
• Advise field engineers, contractors, and inspectors during construction.
• Contribute to project proposals with scope, schedule, and manpower estimates.
• Promote new business for the company and area of expertise.
