Haley Ward, Inc. is hiring a Civil Project Engineer in Portland, ME to plan, organize, design and control project activities within budgets and QA/QC constraints. Projects include residential, commercial, industrial and institutional site plans with land development focus.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, PE or EIT on track, strong math skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD. Valid driver’s license is essential; flexible field and office work with site visits will be needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Sound mathematical skills are required.
• A working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD is required.

Responsibilities

• Supports project team toward preparation of a professional, economical, and effective set of plans and specifications for each project.
• Conducts engineering computations to design difficult and complex engineering projects.
• Communicates with governmental/regulatory staff relative to design concepts and requirements.
• Represents clients at regulatory agency hearings or meetings.
• Performs overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans).
• Monitors compliance to applicable codes, QA/QC policies, and specifications.
