Job summary

Henrico Doctors' Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Occupational Health unit. You will provide direct nursing care, administer medications, monitor vitals, and coordinate patient care with the team to ensure effective discharge planning.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, Virginia RN license (or compact), and BLS certification, with 3–5 years of RN experience preferred. This is a full‑time, on‑site position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on the Occupational Health unit according to policies and procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications using the 5 rights of medication administration.
• Monitor patient conditions and document using computerized systems.
• Coordinate care with the healthcare team, including discharge planning needs.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN), on our Occupational Health unit you will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital. While providing clinical and administrative support on the unit, you will work closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient’s needs. You will also coordinate unit activities and assure accountability of all assigned tasks.

• Your Primary function in this role is to participate in the patient assessment function to determine the type of care required to meet the patients’ initial and changing needs
• As a member of Occupational Health you will administer all prescribed medications utilizing the 5 rights to medication administration, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Our nursing team monitors, records and communicates patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• You will serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, including patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Licensed a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• At least 3-5 years RN experience highly preferred
