Job summary

Excellus BCBS seeks a Benefits Specialist to support design, administration, and delivery of employee benefits. The role collaborates with HR, employees, and vendors to ensure accurate program execution and a positive employee experience.

Level I/II responsibilities include benefits enrollment, COBRA, retiree billing, and compliance with HIPAA/ERISA. Strong customer service, confidentiality, and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field with 3+ years in Benefits HR.（7 years equivalent possible）
• Solid understanding of benefit plans and regulations.
• Familiarity with HRIS/Payroll systems; Workday a plus.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administers day-to-day benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and post-retirement plans.
• Maintains and updates benefit records in Workday; ensures confidentiality.
• Assists with enrollments, open enrollment, and benefits communications.
• Responds to inquiries and resolves routine benefit issues; escalates complex cases.
