Job summary

Addison Group in Austin, TX seeks a knowledgeable Benefits Specialist to join its HR team on a contract-to-hire basis. You will respond to employee questions, administer health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits, and help ensure accurate enrollment and compliance.

The role involves partnering with vendors and HR partners, maintaining HRIS/payroll data, supporting open enrollment, and improving benefits processes to enhance the employee experience.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in employee benefits administration.
• Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs and benefits administration.
• Understanding of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, and ADA requirements.
• Experience with benefits enrollments, qualifying life events, leave administration, vendor coordination, and benefits reconciliation.
• Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a benefits resource: Act as a primary point of contact for employee benefits questions, providing clear guidance and timely support.
• Administer benefits programs: Support health, dental, vision, life, disability, and other employee benefit programs, including enrollments, qualifying life events, changes, and terminations.
• Support open enrollment: Assist with open enrollment activities, employee communications, dependent verification, and required documentation.
• Maintain accuracy: Update and maintain benefits information within HRIS and payroll systems, reconcile invoices, and assist with audits and reporting.
• Coordinate with vendors: Partner with benefits vendors, brokers, third-party administrators, and internal HR teams to research and resolve employee issues.
• Support compliance: Assist with benefits compliance and administration related to ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, and applicable federal and state requirements.
• Improve processes: Assist with benefits communications, reporting, process improvements, and other HR projects that enhance the employee experience.
