Job summary

Brown & Brown seeks an experienced Employee Benefits Consultant/Producer to drive growth through new business development and strategic client relationships. You will identify opportunities, advise clients on complex risk needs, and leverage our national platform to deliver outcomes.

This role requires a proven benefits sales background, strong technical knowledge of health insurance products, and the ability to execute a consultative selling process with executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Active Life & Health Insurance License in good standing.
  • Proven success in employee benefit sales or risk advisory services.
  • Strong understanding of health insurance products and carrier dynamics.
  • Ability to build relationships, generate revenue, and advise commercial clients.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and market outreach.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with business owners, executives, and decision-makers.
  • Identify client exposures and develop customized insurance and risk management strategies.
  • Conduct risk management discussions, renewal strategy sessions, and new business presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare proposals and negotiate coverage solutions.
  • Present and sell new business and renewal recommendations, including value-added services.
  • Provide ongoing guidance on coverage, market conditions, and risk improvement opportunities.

Brown & Brown is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Consultant/ Producer to drive profitable growth through new business development, strategic relationship management, and customized risk advisory solutions.

This role is ideal for a proven benefits insurance sales professional who can identify opportunities, advise clients on complex risk needs, and leverage Brown & Brown’s market access, service teams, and national platform to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

What You’ll Do
  • Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, centers of influence, and targeted market outreach.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with business owners, executives, risk managers, carrier partners, and key decision-makers.
  • Identify client exposures and develop customized insurance and risk management strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct risk management discussions, coverage reviews, stewardship meetings, renewal strategy sessions, and new business presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal service, marketing, claims, carrier relations, and placement teams to prepare proposals and negotiate coverage solutions.
  • Present and sell new business and renewal recommendations, including value-added services and risk management resources.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by providing ongoing guidance on coverage, market conditions, claims concerns, and risk improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline data, prospect information, and client communication in Microsoft Dynamics or other designated CRM tools.
  • Represent Brown & Brown in the marketplace through participation in industry associations, civic organizations, trade groups, and networking events.
  • Promote teamwork, knowledge sharing, and a positive culture across the department and Profit Center.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Active Life & Health Insurance License in good standing.
  • Proven success in employee benefit sales, business development, or risk advisory services.
  • Strong technical understanding of health insurance products, coverage structures, risk management principles, and carrier marketplace dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, generate new revenue, and advise commercial clients.
  • Strong prospecting, presentation, negotiation, communication, and consultative selling skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel routinely for client meetings, prospecting activity, networking events, and business development opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience working with mid to large group or industry-specialized clients.
  • Established relationships within the local business community, carrier marketplace, or targeted industry verticals.
  • Familiarity with agency management systems and insurance sales technology platforms.

Compensation, Incentives & Equity

The estimated annual total compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $800,000+, inclusive of base salary, commissions, performance incentives, stock-based awards, and other compensation programs.

Actual compensation will vary based on individual performance, business production, and achievement of established goals.
