Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit in Coatesville, PA, seeks a part-time Instructional Assistant for an Emotional Support classroom within the Student Services division. The position is benefits-eligible and located at the Stanley K.Landis Building, 1530 E Lincoln Hwy, Coatesville, PA 19320.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6.5 hours, 185 days per year, starting Aug 11, 2026. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (associates degree preferred).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or higher preferred or 2 years post-secondary education or 48 college credits.
• Experience with special needs population preferred.
• Experience with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Current police, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing a basic skills program or educational programming and provide one-on-one support for students with special needs. May include lifting. Work independently and in a team. Physical intervention in crisis may be required.
