Job summary

Moon Area School District is seeking an Emotional Support Classroom Assistant Class I at Bon Meade Elementary School. 7 hours per day (8:00 am – 3:30 pm), 195/193 workdays, with responsibilities including supporting students with disabilities, implementing IEP-based strategies, and assisting with classroom tasks.

The role requires an Associate degree or higher (or two years postsecondary study) or PDE Paraeducator Credential, plus ability to work with children and use Microsoft Office and AT

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher, or two years of postsecondary study or PDE Paraeducator Credential.
• Ability to work with children.
• Demonstrate aptitude for tasks and proficiency with district tests.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-to-one and small group assistance and redirection to maintain task focus.
• Assist/supervise students with disabilities as directed by teachers or administrators.
• Assist with self-help or self-care skills as designated in the IEP.
• Assist the student in the use of Assistive Technology as prescribed by the IEP team.
• Monitors and assists students through the day in multiple settings including lunch, field trips, and transportation if applicable.
• Directs movement of students during drills, assemblies, and special classes.
• Perform clerical and data-collection tasks related to IEP progress and ACCESS billing.
