Job summary

Allentown School District is seeking a Paraprofessional (Emotional Support) to assist certificated staff in delivering instructional, behavioral, and functional programs for students with disabilities. The role includes one-on-one or small-group support, classroom management, and implementing positive behavior plans.

Responsibilities include aiding IEP goal execution, collecting progress data, assisting with daily care needs, and supporting safe transitions around the school.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and math competencies required.
• U. S. citizen or holder of a valid work visa required.
• Must maintain 20 hours of approved staff development annually.
• Compliance with Act 34, 114, and Act 151 clearances is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the principal and professionals to maintain a safe, orderly school environment.
• Support teachers in delivering instructional strategies per IEP.
• Provide instructional support (tests, tutoring, reinforcement) under teacher supervision.
• Collect observational and academic data for progress monitoring.
• Maintain student files and records for documentation.
