Title: Brake Systems Release Engineer

Description:

Role Overview:

The Brake Interface Components Design Release Engineer will oversee the design and validation of brake tubes, hoses, and wheel speed sensors, ensuring all system and vehicle-level objectives are met. Responsibilities include managing component releases, bill of materials, CAD drawings, verification plans, physical testing, supplier management, issuing change notices, vehicle build support, issue resolution, and PPAP processes. The engineer will:

• Collaborate with vehicle engineering, suppliers, purchasing, quality, and assembly plants.
• Manage product performance to meet functional, cost, and weight targets.
• Handle product release and change management processes.
• Support packaging in vehicle environments.
• Manage supplier and internal DVPRs and DFMEAs.
• Support AQP, PSO, product launches, and ongoing maintenance of carryover products.
• Be responsible for the design and release of designated components.
• Develop and refine routings for brake tubes, hoses, and sensors, considering safety, reliability, and performance.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or ABET equivalent.
• Demonstrated aptitude for mechanical engineering through work experience or academic projects.
• Strong communication skills for interfacing with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in engineering disciplines such as DVPR, DFMEA.
• Formal training or experience in problem solving, quality, and reliability.
• Action-oriented and customer-focused mindset.
• Experience in manufacturing vehicle components and assembly.
• Previous experience with brake tubes, hoses, and wheel speed sensors.
