Job description

Our Client, an Automotive Components company, is looking for a Validation Test Engineer for their Novi, MI location.

Responsibilities:

1. Review and recommend software-related improvements based on usage and performance testing. Identify areas for continuous improvement and present findings to the software development team.
2. Develop and maintain an open issue list for customer engineering meetings.
3. Support project-related meetings with customers and document minutes from these meetings.
4. Perform system tests according to the validation plan and suggest opportunities for improvement to the development team.
5. Understand customer requirements and requests to support the Validation Team.
6. Test and support test procedures as new requirements are received.
7. Evaluate new software patches and assess their impact on the system.
8. Analyze and address claims and issues during development and production.
9. Prepare documentation, reports, and materials for customer engineering meetings.
10. Test and adjust automated test procedures with new functional requirements upon release.
11. Evaluate system impacts and perform regression testing with all new software releases.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering or a related field, or 2 years of college equivalent.
2. Knowledge of Python and basic scripting.
3. Ability to learn new technologies quickly; attention to detail; good communication skills.
4. Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve software defects and performance issues. Write clear, well-documented, and efficient test cases following best practices.
5. Preferred but not required: automotive OEM experience, infotainment experience, testing for complex embedded products, automation software testing, and experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence).
