Job summary

Toyota's Powertrain Certification & Compliance Department seeks a motivated certification engineer in Ann Arbor, MI to oversee light-duty emission and fuel economy certification and in-use testing. You will collaborate with engineering teams and Japanese affiliates, manage testing plans, and report regulatory results to ensure compliance with EPA and California regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of engineering work experience (co-op/internship considered).
• Experience in Emissions/Fuel Economy Development or certifications.
• Understanding of Emissions/Fuel Economy performance and testing procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools such as MS Project/Excel.
• Willingness to work overtime (up to ~20%) and travel domestically/internationally.

Responsibilities

• Oversee light-duty vehicle emission and fuel economy certification and in-use testing.
• Plan and execute testing; coordinate with internal teams and external labs.
• Provide technical guidance; review, analyze and report results for regulatory compliance.
• Develop procedures and tools for certification testing and data analysis.
