Job summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. is seeking a certification engineer to oversee light-duty emission and fuel economy certification and in-use testing.

You will collaborate with the certification team, engineers, and related departments to plan, execute testing, and ensure compliance with federal and California regulations. You will manage test plans, coordinate NA labs, analyze data, and develop new procedures to improve certification processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years engineering experience; internships/co-ops considered.
• Experience in Emissions/Fuel Economy development or certifications.
• Familiarity with EPA & CARB regulations is a plus.
• MATLAB/Simulink/C/C++ or programming languages experience.
• Vehicle data acquisition tools (INCA, Vehicle Spy) and big data handling.

Responsibilities

• Manage emissions/test plans and oversee certification testing.
• Coordinate test labs in NA (Los Angeles, Denver) and manage resources.
• Analyze test data and generate technical reports for agencies.
• Develop procedures and tools for certification testing and data analysis.
