Job summary

Trenam Law, located in downtown Tampa, seeks an experienced Legal Assistant to support our Litigation practice, including a busy Eminent Domain attorney. The role focuses on high-level litigation support and efficient operation of the Litigation and Eminent Domain groups.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, with experience in case file management, scheduling, discovery support, and trial preparation, ensuring professional client service and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally within litigation or land use matters.
• High school diploma required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems; iManage experience helpful.
• Strong knowledge of court filing procedures (electronic and in-person).
• Accurate, quality work product with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive legal and administrative support in litigation, eminent domain, and transactional matters.
• Draft, proofread, and finalize correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and legal documents.
• Maintain case and client files in document management systems (DMS); organize pleadings, exhibits, and correspondence.
• Manage attorney calendars, including court deadlines, depositions, client meetings, and travel arrangements.
• Coordinate with court personnel, opposing counsel, clients, vendors, and internal staff.
• Open new matters: gather information, initiate conflict checks, and draft engagement letters.
