University of Maine at Farmington is seeking an Emerging Technology Coordinator to lead campus efforts in exploring, evaluating, and adopting new tech, from AI to future tools. You will build AI literacy, support innovative teaching, and help navigate a rapidly changing tech landscape with faculty, staff, students, and leaders.

You’ll move from asking what technology does to how we can use it thoughtfully and effectively, providing training and one-on-one faculty support in AI-enabled practices

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education, technology, instructional design, learning sciences, or related field.
• At least one year of hands-on experience designing, piloting, or evaluating AI-based tools in education or professional context, or 6 years total experience/education.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for exploring how AI can responsibly enhance teaching and learning.
• Experience collaborating across multiple constituencies in a professional setting.
• Initiative, project coordination skills, and a service-oriented attitude.

Responsabilités

• Lead campus efforts to identify and evaluate emerging technologies including AI and responsible-use practices.
• Create engaging training and professional development on these technologies for faculty, staff, and students.
• Work with faculty to explore effective practices in AI-enabled course design and assessments.
• Partner with Library to strengthen AI and information literacy across campus.
• Explore and evaluate tools and projects, like chatbots and rapid prototyping.
