WSP in Chicago, IL is seeking an Early Career Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering Team. This role offers advanced training in structural design and digital tools, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues worldwide.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Structural/Civil Engineering, 0–1 years of experience, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Travel may be required; salary ranges reflect market norms for the location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or closely related).
• 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build concepts.
• Familiarity with structural/civil codes and record-keeping requirements.
• Interpersonal/communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Self-leadership with attention to detail and prioritization.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience with BIM software (Revit).
• Experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint; safety policy familiarity.
• Willingness to work schedules beyond typical workweek.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design of new buildings and restoration of existing buildings across the United States.
• Analyze and design superstructures and foundations in timber, concrete, steel, and masonry.
• Utilize latest technology and digital tools for design.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures while managing resources.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
