Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Responsible for managing the front end of the store and making recommendations on the overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store.
Supports Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables; works alternate schedule with the Store Manager with minimal overlap; assumes responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager. Ensures proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improves store sales and profitability.
Leads and manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline of direct reports to ensure teams are engaged and responsible for their duties.
Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer complaints promptly and answers questions to ensure a positive experience. Shares customer service best practices.
- Monitors customer service, provides coaching and training, and develops improvement plans for both front-end and pharmacy teams. Empowers team members to resolve customer issues effectively, aiming to exceed expectations and build loyalty.
- Responsible for improving overall customer service metrics.
Operations
- Supervises store operations and team activities, including assigning daily tasks, delegating responsibilities, managing shifts, approving time records, and handling scheduling conflicts.
- Collaborates with external partners to support community outreach and external partnerships, assisting the Pharmacy Operations Manager as needed.
- Supports data analysis and decision-making processes, monitoring impact and following up on initiatives.
- Manages cash operations, including register counts, bank withdrawals, armored car pickups, and safe deposits.
- Oversees inventory for front end and pharmacy, conducting resets, analyzing trends, and training staff on inventory procedures.
- Ensures store cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and compliance with policies and regulations, including sale of regulated products.
- Completes special tasks and assignments as directed.
Business Performance Management
- Analyzes financial and performance data to develop action plans for store improvement.
- Uses KPIs and operational data to engage the team and identify sales opportunities, supporting store growth initiatives.
- Supports pharmacy operations during busy periods, including serving as a pharmacy technician if necessary.
People & Performance Management
- Leads, trains, and mentors team members, managing performance, discipline, and development plans.
- Recruits and retains talent, manages staffing needs, and develops future leaders.
- Ensures adherence to hiring, training, and record-keeping policies, fostering a culture of accountability.
Training & Personal Development
- Completes Store Manager training programs and other required development courses.
- Seeks feedback, maintains an Individual Development Plan, and commits to self-improvement.
- Obtains and maintains necessary pharmacy technician licenses.
Communications
- Maintains open communication with team through meetings and discussions.
- Assists in planning and communicating store strategy.
- Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, leadership skills, and flexibility to work varied hours and relocate if necessary.
