Thornburg Investment Management, Inc. seeks a Service Desk Associate - Security Specialist to protect employee workstations, applications and user-level technology.

This hands-on role sits in the Service Desk and is designed for those starting a cybersecurity and infrastructure career path, offering practical experience with endpoint security and incident response fundamentals. You will work with Microsoft tools, automate tasks with PowerShell, and collaborate with Infrastructure and Security

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of combined service in Service Desk, End User Support, or technical support roles with security responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting Windows and macOS endpoints.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Intune, Defender for Endpoint, and Microsoft 365 security tools.
• Familiarity with endpoint security concepts, patching, configuration management, and device compliance.
• Experience working with a service management platform (e.g., Freshservice or similar).
• Strong documentation, organization, and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated interest in security, automation, and career growth beyond traditional Service Desk work.
• Working knowledge of security frameworks such as CIS and NIST (preferred)
• Scripting experience (PowerShell preferred)
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+. (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Endpoint & User Security (60%) – manage patching, monitor protections, and incident containment.
• Service Desk & Operational Support (40%) – troubleshoot end-user issues with a security-first mindset.
• Collaboration, Exposure & Growth – participate in IT projects and align with enterprise standards.
