Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a market-focused professional to design and execute a strategic plan for donor recruitment within the Memphis territory and beyond. You will work with leadership to identify and cultivate a diverse sponsor base while managing key relationships and projects to drive growth.

You will analyze market data, prepare management reports, and contribute to proposal development and contract negotiations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, communications or relevant field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a strategic market plan with Donor Recruitment leadership to identify, cultivate and expand blood sponsors in the territory.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and project management up to executive levels.
  • Analyze data, research trends, and prepare reports and recommendations for management review.
  • Implement blood sponsor collection initiatives and cultivate relationships with key demographics.
  • Support external communications materials to relevant population sponsors.
  • Assist in developing proposals and supporting contract negotiations.
  • Identify operational improvement areas and help implement action plans.
  • Provide own transportation for business purposes.

Territory: Memphis ~with a focus from time to time in the entire state of Tennessee

Salary Range: $60,200 - $80,300

Grade 10

Responsibilities
  • 1. Design, develop and implement a strategic market plan strategy, in partnership with Donor Recruitment leadership, to effectively identify, cultivate and expand a diversified population of blood sponsors within assigned territory.
  • 2. Manage complex internal and external stakeholder management, including project management and executive-level relationship development.
  • 3. Analyze data, conduct research, identify trends, conduct business plan analyses and feasibility studies to identify advantageous strategic business directions and prepare reports and recommendations for management review.
  • 4. Implement specific blood sponsor collection initiatives, including initial outreach efforts and cultivating relationships and partnerships with key demographics.
  • 5. Support corporate communication efforts to external parties, including developing and disseminating communication and marketing materials to relevant demographic population sponsors.
  • 6. Assist in the development of proposals and support contract negotiations.
  • 7. Identify areas of operational improvement and assist in the implementation of relevant action plans.
  • 8. Responsible for providing own transportation for business purposes.
Scope

Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, communications or relevant field required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Management Experience: N/A

Skills & Abilities: Basic proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable. Knowledge of group dynamics, direct sales, customer maintenance techniques, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively develop and implement programs is preferred. Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including training and presentation skills, are required. A current valid driver's license and a good driving record are required. Ability to work on a team and lead through influence. DEI experience. Experience with media interviews, communications, acting as a spokesperson. Executive presence. Cultural competency and depth of knowledge/credibility in the Black community. Ability to communicate medical product and patient needs to an external audience. Ability to work on a team.

Travel: Some travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

The duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. May be required to travel to sites throughout the region to meet with potential donor groups. Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software for sustained periods of time.
