Job summary

Jobot is seeking an entry- to early-career Safety Coordinator to join the Southwest Michigan team in Portage. You will work with operations, field supervision, and leadership to implement workplace safety programs across office, shop, and project environments.

The role emphasizes mentorship and practical growth into ownership of the safety function. The position targets recent safety graduates or interns with 1–5 years of safety experience, offering a defined development path, OSHA exposure, and

Qualifications

• Safety-related degree or coursework with internship/co-op experience.
• Foundational OSHA knowledge and safety principles.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, industrial safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update safety programs for site and project environments.
• Develop and update Job Safety Analyses and hazard plans.
• Conduct and document job-site and shop safety inspections.
• Identify hazards and develop corrective actions.
• Follow through to ensure deficiencies are resolved.
• Develop and deliver safety training and maintain compliance records.
• Conduct project and job-site orientations.
• Provide regulatory guidance to field supervision and employees.
• Investigate incidents and accidents and complete required reporting.
• Track and report safety and health metrics.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA and local, state, and federal requirements.
• Communicate safety expectations to field teams.
• Support PPE and safety-supply initiatives.
• Maintain safety documentation and SDS information.
• Support confined-space and industrial-hygiene activities as needed.
