Job summary

Onterris seeks a Junior Environmental Scientist to join an emergency response team, conducting environmental sampling and data collection to identify pollutants and hazards. You will apply scientific methods to assess risks and ensure client expectations are met while traveling frequently and on-call.

Requirements include a biology/environmental science degree, strong English communication, OSHA/HAZWOPER readiness, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related science.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work on-call as part of emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Immediate availability for extended travel and emergency response as requested by client.
• Maintain, calibrate and mobilize PPE/equipment for emergency response.
• Gather and analyze samples for potential contamination.
• Perform monitoring and sampling per prescribed methods.
• Compile and summarize scientific data and literature; adhere to safety protocols.
• Complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training within first three weeks of hire.
