Job summary

Hatch seeks a dynamic Junior Controls & Automation Engineer to join the Project Delivery Group in Tampa, FL. Reporting to the PDG, you will support instrumentation and control system design across maintenance, expansion, and new construction projects.

The role targets recent graduates with degrees in electrical or chemical engineering, a 3.0 GPA, and an interest in controls or computer science. In-office with occasional remote work, Hatch offers mentorship and practical, hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or chemical engineering with interest in controls or computer science
• Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Recent graduate or soon-to-be university/college graduate with relevant skills

Responsibilities

• Provide instrumentation and control system engineering design support on maintenance, expansion, and new construction projects
• Participate in site evaluations and data collection
• Assist in P&ID development and instrument lists
• Prepare equipment specifications and instrument data sheets
• Update motor schematics, loop drawings, and instrument location drawings
• Assist in PLC, DCS and HMI programming and functional descriptions
• Provide on-site construction, commissioning, and start-up support
• Gain knowledge in SCADA, telemetry and ISA applications
