Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Junior Control and Automation Engineer in Tampa, FL to join a dynamic Project Delivery Group. You will work on instrumentation and control system design, P&ID development, and PLC/DCS/HMI programming with on-site support responsibilities.

The role requires a BS in Electrical or Chemical Engineering with an interest in controls, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and a willingness to learn. Previous co-op/internship experience is a plus in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must have or be currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering with an interest in Controls or Computer Science.
• Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Instrumentation and Control System engineering design support to multidiscipline teams on maintenance, expansion, and new construction projects.
• Participate in site evaluations and data collection.
• Participate in P&ID development and the creation of all associated lists (instruments lists, etc.).
• Assist in the preparation of equipment specifications and instrument data sheets.
• Update motor schematics, loop drawings, layout drawings and instrument location drawings.
• Assist in the preparation of PLC, DCS and HMI programming and functional descriptions.
• Provide on-site construction, commissioning, and start-up support.
