Job summary

Prevailance, Inc. in Norfolk, VA seeks an Emerging and Disruptive Technologies Senior Analyst to support NATO HQ SACT CMDS in capability development. This on-site role requires ~25% travel.

You will analyze science and technology developments, identify adoption opportunities, promote EDT-based experiments, educate staff on EDT risks and benefits, and coordinate EDT knowledge sharing across NATO stakeholders and defense partners.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience acquiring, assembling, and interpreting research and technology information.
  • Knowledge of S&T information sources such as defense labs, universities, media, and defense ministries.
  • Experience interpreting future S&T and EDT-related information for potential military applications.
  • Ability to analyze EDT documentation and identify adoption pathways.
  • Experience with PC office automation and internet-based information research.
  • English-language proficiency equivalent to STANAG 6001 SLP 3333.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new EDTs and support cataloguing and assessment.
  • Assess implications of EDTs and identify adoption opportunities supporting the Warfare Development Agenda.
  • Promote experimentation with EDT-based solutions in realistic operational environments.
  • Identify and assess technologies addressing capability shortfalls or significantly affecting military capabilities.
  • Provide and coordinate EDT analysis supporting strategic foresight, NATO defense planning, capability and force development, and AoA.
  • Analyze NATO Defence Planning Process (NDPP) products and related information to identify capability gaps benefiting from EDTs.
  • Develop practical examples of how EDTs could be applied to current and future operational challenges.
  • Educate military staff regarding opportunities and risks associated with EDTs.
  • Maintain EDT knowledge resources and information exchange among EDT stakeholders.

Overview

Prevailance is seeking an Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDT) Senior Analyst to support North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT) Capability Development Management Support (CMDS) in Norfolk, Virginia. This position is expected to work on-site and may require approximately 25% travel.

The EDT Senior Analyst supports the identification, assessment, and adoption of emerging technologies with potential application to current and future military capabilities. This position analyzes science and technology developments, identifies opportunities to address capability shortfalls, supports experimentation and capability development, and provides technology-focused analysis informing NATO strategic foresight, defense planning, and warfare development activities.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  • Identify new Emerging and Disruptive Technologies and support the cataloguing and continued assessment of existing EDTs
  • Assess the implications of emerging technologies and identify potential adoption opportunities supporting the Warfare Development Agenda
  • Promote experimentation with EDT-based solutions in realistic operational environments
  • Identify and assess technologies capable of addressing capability shortfalls or significantly affecting existing military capabilities
  • Provide and coordinate EDT analysis supporting strategic foresight efforts, NATO defense planning, capability and force development, capability requirements formulation, concept development and experimentation, and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA)
  • Analyze NATO Defence Planning Process (NDPP) products, operational Lessons Learned, and other relevant information to identify capability shortfalls that could benefit from emerging technologies
  • Develop practical examples of how emerging technologies could be applied to current and future operational challenges
  • Educate military staff regarding opportunities and risks associated with EDTs
  • Maintain EDT knowledge and information resources supporting Warfare Development and information exchange among EDT stakeholders

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience acquiring, assembling, and interpreting research and technology information
  • Demonstrated knowledge of science and technology (S&T) information sources, such as defense research laboratories, academic institutions, media sources, and defense ministries
  • Documented experience interpreting future science and technology and EDT-related information to assess potential military applications and opportunities to address current and future operational challenges
  • Ability to analyze EDT documentation, identify potential adoption pathways, and develop practical examples of how emerging technologies can be applied to current and future military challenges
  • Practical experience with PC office automation products and internet-based information research
  • Demonstrated English-language proficiency equivalent to STANAG 6001 SLP 3333

Education

  • Must satisfy one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree from a nationally recognized/certified university in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, or a closely related scientific or engineering discipline, plus at least 4 years of post-related experience; or
    • In lieu of a university degree, at least 6 years of extensive and progressive experience in duties related to the function of the position

Clearance

  • Must possess and maintain a NATO SECRET or national equivalent security clearance
