Job summary

The City of Philadelphia Water Department seeks an Emergency Water Distribution Crew Chief to lead several crews in investigating complaints, performing routine distribution repairs, and executing temporary or preliminary repairs during emergencies before full restorations.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in installation, repair or maintenance of water mains and appurtenances.
• Two years of experience performing emergency water distribution repair work.
• Presently employed by the City with Civil Service status in the Water Department.

Responsibilities

• Directs activities of several crews engaged in investigating complaints and routine distribution repairs.
• Performs temporary or preliminary repairs during emergencies before restorative work begins.
• Assigns routine hydrant repairs, water main checks and valve inspections with a supervisor.
