Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in North Dallas, TX is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our emergency team. The role includes anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery, triage of emergencies, and radiography with proper technique.

You will interpret vital signs, alert Veterinarians to changes, perform phlebotomy and IV catheter placements, and manage medications and CPR when needed. We offer growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be an experienced Veterinary Technician with applicable anesthesia skills.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters.
• Strong understanding of vital signs and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia and use monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and record vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with correct patient positioning.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math and administer medications by appropriate routes.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Provide patient care with empathy and address client concerns.
