Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician for our busy Emergency department. This role offers a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 and a possible moving allowance for relocation.

Pay ranges from $30.00 to $42.50 per hour, with shift differentials for nights and weekends. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage cases, perform radiography, interpret vitals, and alert the Veterinarian to changes.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician in good standing.
• Experience in emergency veterinary care preferred.
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and monitor vitals.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases arriving at the hospital and obtain vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with proper techniques and positioning.
• Understand normal ranges for vitals including heart rate, temp, BP, and SpO2.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and alert veterinarians to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Compute medical math and administer meds via appropriate routes.
• Place IV catheters and perform phlebotomy.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central lines.
• Mentor and train other staff.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
