Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited veterinary technician program and registered as VT or PVT through DORA.
• Transcript or diploma must be attached to the application to demonstrate graduation.
• 4+ years of veterinary emergency medicine experience if not graduate.
• CACVT registration via DORA required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate clear communication with clients and referring veterinarians to support accurate diagnostics and treatment planning.
• Determine clinical priorities, direct case flow, and uphold safety standards including isolation, chemotherapy handling, and biosecurity.
• Interpret abnormal diagnostics and determine need for advanced therapies such as PPV and CRRT.
• Perform advanced catheter and tube placements and complex anesthesia recovery.
• Guide students and staff in emergency care, promoting learning and low-stress handling.
• Lead triage, ensure documentation and supply readiness, onboard new personnel, and improve workflow.
