Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $40.00 per hour, dependent on experience and progression through our competency leveling system. Schedule includes Daytime and Weekends.

You will work in a fast-paced environment caring for critically ill or injured patients, expanding and growing your skills alongside talented veterinary professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Veterinary Technician in emergency/critical care setting.
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and recover patients.
• Proficiency in digital radiography and patient positioning.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia and use monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Identify at-risk patients and initiate CPR as needed.
• Calculate medical doses and administer medications.
• Place and maintain IV catheters and perform phlebotomy.
• Manage feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other team members.
• Provide compassionate care to clients and patients.
