Emergency Veterinary Technician/Assistant

Position Overview

In the ER, every day is different and fast-paced. We are looking for technicians who enjoy moving from one task to another, can adapt quickly, and handle critical situations with ease.

Responsibilities
  1. Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather additional information.
  2. Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize care accordingly.
  3. Partner with the patient care team on treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care.
  4. Educate clients on home care, medications, and wellness updates.
  5. Assist DVM with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures.
  6. Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
  7. Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
  8. Perform laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside labs.
Qualifications
  1. State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
  2. Prior veterinary experience required; emergency experience is a plus.
  3. Proficient in calculations related to drugs, infusions, and unit conversions.
  4. Flexible with work hours and able to work additional hours when needed.
  5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
