The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center seeks a Veterinary Care Assistant 2 to join the Emergency and Critical Care team for the second shift. The successful candidate will assist clinicians and staff in daily operations, provide basic patient care, collect specimens, monitor patients, and assist with admissions and discharges.

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, and a minimum of six months of veterinary experience.

Mansioni

• Provide basic patient care functions and assist clinicians and staff in daily operations.
• Assist with collection of lab specimens (blood, urine, feces) for testing.
• Assist with patient assessment, restraint and treatments; monitor hospitalized patients.
• Assist with training student employees in prescribed care of animals.
• Care for hospitalized animals; maintain housing, feeding and cleanliness.
• Assist with admissions and discharges, including loading/unloading animals; transport within the facility.
• Stock supplies, disinfect treatment and surgical areas, and support equipment per sanitation procedures.
