Job summary

Animal Emergency Clinic of San Diego in Poway, CA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, including equipment cleaning, patient handling, and clerical work.

The successful candidate will have emergency experience, be 18+, and willing to work the Swing Shift (Thu-Sat, 4PM–2:30AM). Benefits and opportunities for growth are offered.

Pay ranges from $20–$35 per hour with a strong culture of care and team support across the PetVet Care Centers network.

Qualifications

• Experience in Emergency required.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and their owners as they arrive and show them to an examining room.
• Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by licensed staff.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with administration of medications or patient restraint.
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and monitoring systems.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Promote hospital products and services and support the organization.
