Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Spring, TX is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their fast-paced emergency department. Qualifications

• Triage emergency cases and assist DVM with plans.
• Perform diagnostics (radiographs, labs) and ICU/inpatient setup.
• Discharge patients and communicate with clients.
• Administer medications and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic physical exams.
• Assist with anesthesia and monitoring for ASA I/II cases.
• Stay current with R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care according to hospital standards.
• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during rounds.
• Understand medications and monitor responses.
• Administer meds and monitor duration/delivery routes.
• Perform phlebotomy and routine diagnostics.
• Assist with anesthesia and monitoring for applicable cases.
• Keep CPR knowledge up-to-date per guidelines.
