PetVet Care Centers' Westside Animal Emergency Clinic in Lithia Springs, GA is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, exam preparation, medication administration, and patient restraint. The role includes radiography, lab work, and clerical duties in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Ideal candidates have ER experience, high school diploma, and strong client communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous ER experience required.
• Proficient in IV catheter placement, jugular/cephalic/saphenous blood draws.
• Experience with patient monitoring (ICU/post-surgical) and radiography.
• Strong triage and restraint skills for dogs and cats.
• Surgical prep and anesthesia monitoring experience.
• Ability to take IV, IM, SQ injections and administer medications.
• Excellent client communications.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients and greet owners.
• Triage patients, perform exams, administer medications as directed by veterinarians/LVTs.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and patient restraint.
• Perform lab tests and radiographs.
• Maintain equipment and hospital cleanliness; manage medical records.
