PetVet Care Centers' Westside Animal Emergency Clinic in Lithia Springs, GA seeks a PRN Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, maintain equipment, feed, exercise, groom patients, and handle clerical tasks in a fast-paced emergency setting.

The role requires compassion, strong client communication, and ability to work rotating shifts. Schedule includes PRN coverage with no overnights at times, as the hospital operates after-hours emergencies.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient in triaging, placing IV catheters, and blood draws.
• Surgical prep, anesthesia monitoring, and post-surgical recovery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, weigh and take vital signs upon arrival.
• Triage, perform exams, treatments, and assist with medications as directed.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients and assist with restraints.
• Perform labs, radiographs, and maintain equipment.
• Fill prescriptions and document medications and controlled drugs.
• Maintain clean, safe hospital environment and proper records.
• Promote hospital products and services and support the team.
