Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health’s Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC) in Parker, CO is hiring a Veterinary Assistant for Emergency Days. The position offers $18–$22/hr with a $2.50/hr overnight differential after 6pm. Full-time, Wed–Sat, 10:00am–8:00pm, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Minimum one year of veterinary assistant experience and fluent English are required. Experience in emergency or specialty settings and EasyVet knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• At least ONE YEAR of veterinary assistant experience is REQUIRED
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms for each visit, including tools needed for each exam.
• Retrieve patient charts from client services or referring department on behalf of the technicians when asked.
• Obtain other vitals, lab work, and diagnostics as needed per doctors or technician orders.
• Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.
• Care for hospitalized patients - administer medications, monitor vital signs, other duties as ordered by the treating veterinarian or treating ER technician
• Clean kennels, runs, wet tables and all other areas of the treatment area and hospital as needed.
• Assist in Ultrasound if needed.
• Laundry
• Basic grooming as needed.
• Other duties as needed.
