Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Olympia Pet Emergency is seeking a Veterinary Assistant (Day Shift) to support veterinarians and technicians with daily tasks including cleaning, feeding, restraining, and clerical work. The dedicated team handles urgent and critical care in a fast-paced environment in Olympia, Washington.

Qualifications

• Must have veterinary experience: 2+ years in ER setting, or 3+ years in general practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, take patient weight and vital signs on arrival
• Triage patients, perform exams, administer medications as directed by licensed staff
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Assist doctors and technicians with medication administration and restraints
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Maintain hospital equipment and documentation, including controlled drugs
• Feed, groom, and bathe patients as prescribed; ensure proper release conditions
• Maintain accurate medical records and hospital cleanliness
• Promote hospital products and services and respond to directions with urgency
