Job summary

VEG for Pets is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join our team in Missouri. You will handle a broad range of emergencies, including complex surgeries and exotic cases, supported by a strong mentorship culture and ongoing education programs.

You will lead the hospital floor, work with a collaborative team, and contribute to an environment that emphasizes growth, client communication, and high-quality patient care. Night, weekend, and holiday coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Live and breathe emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg; support up to 40 kg.
• Comfortable in a noisy environment with strong odors.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Handle emergency cases and surgeries as part of the hospital team.
• Serve as a leader on the hospital floor and provide mentorship and guidance to staff.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment options to clients clearly.
• Prepare estimates and create comprehensive medical records.
• Educate clients on aftercare and preventive measures.
