MissionVet Specialty & Emergency in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a DVM for a full-time ER veterinarian role. You’ll join a collaborative team of specialists and emergency clinicians to deliver high-quality emergency care and grow your expertise in a dedicated ER/ICU setting.

We offer a $25,000 sign-on bonus, a rotating schedule, relocation assistance, and benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, CE allowance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Texas licensure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for urgent and emergent cases.
• Receive and triage incoming emergencies, collaborating with Critical Care and inpatient teams.
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill patients using evidence-based medicine.
• Utilize advanced diagnostics and telemetry monitoring for patient care.
• Collaborate with specialists, emergency veterinarians, technicians, and support staff.
• Communicate clearly with pet owners during stressful situations.

We’ve separated Critical Care and inpatient management from our Emergency service, allowing our ER veterinarians to focus on evaluating, diagnosing, and treating incoming emergency cases. In your day-to-day, you will:

• Deliver high-quality emergency care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.

• Receive and triage incoming emergency cases while collaborating with our dedicated Critical Care and inpatient team on patients requiring continued hospitalization.

• Collaborate closely with specialists, emergency veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.

What You Bring

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Texas veterinary licensure.
• Experienced emergency veterinarians, internship-trained clinicians, experienced general practice and urgent care veterinarians, equine practitioners, and veterinarians with a strong clinical foundation who are eager to transition into emergency medicine are encouraged to apply.
• New graduates interested in developing their emergency medicine skills through our structured ER Immerse mentorship program are also encouraged to apply.
