Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian in Concord, CA to deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals. The role features a 12-shift/month schedule with 10-hour shifts and a compensation package that offers $200,000 plus production and incentives.

You will join a newer, state-of-the-art facility with a collaborative team of veterinarians and specialists dedicated to compassionate care and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • Completion of a rotating internship or 2+ experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred.
  • Confidence managing emergency cases and making sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for urgent and emergent cases.
  • Provide comprehensive emergency care and manage hospitalized patients throughout treatment.
  • Communicate clearly with pet owners during stressful situations.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams for seamless care.

Education

DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
Rotating internship or 2+ years EM experience
Excellent communication skills

In Your Day-to-day, You Will


  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.

  • Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.

  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.

  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.

  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.

  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
