Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health seeks an Emergency Veterinarian for an overnight full-time role in Anchorage, AK. The position includes a signing bonus of up to $50,000 and a focus on high-level emergency and critical care for small animals.

You'll join a collaborative team that emphasizes mentorship, continuous learning, and exceptional patient and client care across a network of specialty and emergency hospitals.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • Completion of a rotating internship or equivalent emergency experience preferred.
  • Experience with ultrasound or endoscopy in emergency settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for urgent and emergent cases.
  • Provide comprehensive emergency care with receiving, triage, and hospitalization.
  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill patients using evidence-based medicine.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and staff to ensure compassionate care.

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
  • Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.
  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • Completion of a rotating internship or experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred (or equivalent clinical experience).
  • Experience with ultrasound or endoscopy in an emergency setting is a plus, but not required.
  • Confidence managing emergency cases and making sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
  • A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing emergency veterinary medicine.
